Since the beginning of time, humans have experienced paranormal activities at certain places.
They would get goose bumps, hear screams, laughter, and footsteps as if somebody is walking near them. This is all true. Supernatural powers do exist in this world and millions of people have experienced them. Here are ten of the world’s most haunted places.
- White House
White House is the home of the President of U.S.A. Many paranormal activities have been reported to take place there. The ghost of Lady Abigail Adams was seen floating through one of the hallway. Eleanor Roosevelt felt the presence of Abraham Lincoln watching her when she was working in the Abraham bedroom. Roosevelt, a clerk claimed to see the ghost of Abraham sitting on a bed. Hence, White House is believed to be haunted.
- The Tower of London
The Tower of London is regarded by many as one of the most haunted places in the UK. It was originally built in 1078 by William the Conqueror. Many people have reported seeing spirits of people walking there. The most famous of all the spirits that live within its walls, is Anne Boleyn, the wife of King Henry VIII. She was beheaded in 1536, and her headless body has been seen walking the Tower’s corridors and often near the spot of her demise. This place is considered as one of the most haunted places in UK.
- The Ridges
The Ridges are known as the Outrageous Asylum of Athens. Many strange incidents have been reported at this place. Once, body of a lady gone missing was found in the locked ward after six years. People have reported that they have heard some screams and scary noises at this place that are more than just scary.
- Stull Cemetery
The Stull Cemetery is also known as one of the 7 gates of hell. A person burnt the whole farm here in the 20th century to find the charred body of his son, but he couldn’t find it. This is the places where the devil himself hold courts.
- Shades of Death Road
The scary name is enough to describe what type of place it is. On the south of the road is located a lake which is known as Ghost Lake. Sky looks unusually brighter at that place. You get strange thoughts and you get a feel as if somebody is watching your every step.
- Changi Beach, Singapore
Changi Beach in Singapore served as a ground for the Japanese during the World War-II. A large number of Chinese were killed during this operation as they were suspected of being anti-Japanese. Strange crying and screaming are reported by people who visit this place.
- Aokigahara, Japan
Aokigahara forest is located at the base of Mount Fuji. Hundreds of people have committed suicides in the forest, so many people that the local police do annual sweeps to clear away the bodies. In 2004, 108 bodies were found from the forest. Police have put signs near the forest that say: “Your life is a precious gift to your parents” and “Please consult with the police before you decide to die.”
- Bhangarh Fort, India
Bhangarh Fort is in Rajasthan, India. According to a legend, Singhia, a black magic tantric cursed the palace so that everybody’s souls will stay there for centuries without rebirth. Another point that will creep you out is that all the houses in this area are without roofs because whenever a house is built with roof, the roof collapses. This is the known as the most haunting place in India. It is said that nobody returns from this place that stays there after dark. Government prohibited this area from staying after sunset. You will find a board installed by Archaeological Survey of India displaying “Staying after sunset is strictly prohibited in this area”.
- Hell Town
Hell Town is located in northern part of the Ohio country. It was used by the government as the extermination place. You will get chills when you will enter the town. There are half burnt houses that may haunt you. Some peoples say that if you stay there for some time, you will see scary things included mental patients, mutants and supernatural spirits.
10. Leap Castle, Ireland
Leap Castle is located in County Offaly, Ireland. According to a legend, there is a notorious beast known as “elemental”, who hunts the castle. When the workers were renovating the castle, they discovered the ceiling hatch from which the prisoners were thrown. People have reported to hear some scary voices from the depth of the hatch.
